Xiaomi started as a brand that targeted the mid-range of the smartphone market. As the year passed, the brand started releasing more appealing devices that can compete with flagship smartphones. Today, the Xiaomi premium phone to have is the Xiaomi Mi 11. It has plenty of things to make anyone excited about it and it makes very few compromises.

Hardware

Being a flagship smartphone means that it received the best possible SoC. The Xiaomi Mi 11 comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC with an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 660 GPU. In benchmarks, it performs very well, trailing behind other flagships from the likes of Samsung or One Plus.

All the processing power it comes with is complemented by either 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. The lowest spec version has 128 GB of internal storage space and 8 GB of RAM. You can upscale it to either 256 GB of storage or 12 GB of RAM.

Being categorized as a Xiaomi premium phone also implies that it comes with an excellent display. The Mi 11 uses a 6.81-inch screen with a 120 Hz refresh rate. The resolution stands at 1440 by 3200 which amounts to a pixel density of 515 ppi.

The cameras are also anything but disappointing. Xiaomi made the Mi 11 with optical stabilization instead of the artificial software stabilization that budget phones use. It has a triple camera setup on the back with a standard wide lens and a 108 MP sensor, a macro camera, and an ultrawide camera. The cameras used can record FullHD videos at up to 240 frames per second and support HDR10+.

Battery

The battery deserves special attention because the battery technology used by Xiaomi makes it a very interesting device. Being a Xiaomi premium phone means that it received the best the Chinese company has to offer. It is one of the few smartphones that are capable of charging at 55 watts. It can go from 0% to 100% in 45 minutes. It even supports fast wireless charging at up to 50 watts. On top of it all, the battery capacity is 4600 mAh which is just above the average and more than enough to provide a full day of intense usage.

Software

The Xiaomi Mi 11 comes with Android 11 which is the latest version available at the moment. On top of it, Xiaomi added their MIUI skin which is very well optimized. It is smooth and has very little bloatware installed. Paired with the 120 Hz screen, the animations of menus, games, and videos appear as smooth as they get.

Value for Money

Xiaomi used to make cheaper devices with amazing specs. It had to move eventually into the premium segment to remain profitable. The Mi 11 is a true Xiaomi premium phone that has the specs one would expect from a flagship phone. The price it is being soft for is marginally lower than an equivalent Samsung phone. You would not make a mistake getting the Mi 11. It is a great alternative if you are looking for an upgrade and want a flagship device.
