It would be possible to curl a synthetic wig. But make sure that you do not use any hot tools, like a synthetic wig or a hot tool. This is till that point in time that a wig is something that can tolerate heat. It is better to use foam rollers to curl the 5 *5 kinky straight closure wigs with the above-mentioned method.

Stick to the use of rollers. Rollers or be it flat irons can be used to create a curl in the hair. Rollers are easiest to develop a curl where you do not apply a lot of heat to the hair. The roller has to be placed at the end of the strand and the hair is to be wound around it.

If the wig is synthetic, the hair to be air dried before you remove the rollers. Then make sure that you apply a styling spray. If the wig happens to be human hair, then use a  blower dryer on each roller to air dryer for more than 60 seconds.

Low heat starts off the process

If you are using a heat tool,  like a curling iron or flat iron, make it a point that you start with a low temperature. The adjustment of the temperature has to be done in such a manner that you develop a curl.

A suggestion is to go for a heat test. It is better than if you undertake it on the visible portion of the hair as if you are worried about heat damaging the ends. At the base of the neck opt for a patch test which is an underlying layer of the neck. If this is the case you may go forward with the rest of the wig.

No point in applying the heat for a long period of time

If you happen to be using a blower dryer you should aim it for not more than 60 seconds at a time. The longer you end up applying the heat, the more damage it is likely to cause.

If you happen to use a hot iron or a curling iron, make sure that the hair does not sit on the heat source. Make sure that you hold the iron onto the heat as far as possible, as it would take time to curl and this is up to 10 seconds with a curling iron. Then you may have to remove it.

Another way to prevent damage to the hair is the application of hair spray. You have to get things sorted out at the first instance so that you do not have to curl the hair over and over again. To make sure that the curls stay longer, pinch the curl into a place of your head and to hold the style apply plenty of hair spray.
