How to Apply for AIBE Exam?

All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is an important exam for individuals willing to start their law practice. The Bar Council of India conducts this exam every year. The aspirants who clear the exam are given the certificate to practice and become eligible for practicing in the Indian courts. However, in order to appear for the exam, you will have to apply for it.

Before you start with the registration process for the AIBE exam, the first step is to understand the requirements. Try to get a comprehensive understanding of all that is required for filling out the application. It will ensure that you do not come across any issues during the registration process. 

After understanding the requirements, it is important to keep the necessary documents ready such as the enrolment certificate, advocate ID card, and scanned copies of your photo and signature. If a disability certificate and category certificate is applicable in your case, you also need to keep them ready.

  • Registration

Once you have all the important documents ready, you can head to the official website. Look for the registration option and click on it. Enter the essential details such as the enrolment number, enrolment year, and the name of your state. Fill out other personal details in the registration form, such as name, address, date of birth, and education. As a sign of acknowledgement, click on the checkbox. Then, click on the ‘Accept’ option in order to register yourself and proceed to the next step.

  • Fill Out the Application Form

After the completion of the registration step, you will have to fill out the application form. You will have to provide all your personal information. It includes your name, gender, date of birth, husband’s/ father’s name, and permanent address. The candidates also need to fill in their contact information like their email address and phone number. Make sure to provide a valid email address, as you will be receiving notifications on the same email. 

In addition to personal details, you also need to provide your academic details. It includes information such as your college name, graduation stream, LLB duration, year of admission and passes out, and enrolment number. In case you have also completed a master’s degree, you will also have to provide details about the same. When done, click on the ‘Next’ button. 

  • Upload Documents

Use the AIBE registration number and password and log in to your account. Once you get logged in, you will have to upload all the documents required for the AIBE exam application. Make sure that the scanned documents are in the right format and size. If the documents are not in the right size, adjust their size before uploading to ensure a smooth flow. In this step, you will have to upload documents like your photo, signature, self-attested photo Id, and self-attested enrolment certificate. 

  • Choose the Test Centre and Test Language

The next step is to choose the test center and language. AIBE exam can be appeared by students in several languages. It includes languages like English, Bengali, Tamil, Odia, Punjabi, Assamese, Marathi, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada. Choose the language you are most comfortable in. Next, select the test center that is close to your location. You will be required to give 3 preferences for the test center. You also need to mention your category and mention any disability you have. 

  • Application Fee Payment

After successful selection of the test center and language of examination, you will have to pay the fee. The payment can be made online or offline. If you want to pay the application fee online, you can choose between internet banking, credit card, and debit card. In case of offline payment, you will have to use the SBI bank challan. The offline payment needs to be done within 24 hours of filling out the application form. 

The candidates will have to wait for the confirmation of the application fee payment. If the payment is done offline, you will have to upload the challan on the website for confirmation of the payment.

  • Submission of Application Form

Once the payment is done, your application for the AIBE exam will be submitted. You do not have to send a hard copy. Make sure to keep it for future reference.
