Makeup Removal Tips – What to do When Makeup Goes Awry

Most women consider makeup a daily routine. You know how to apply lipstick; get a smooth foundation finish, and get sultry smoky eyes. They even know how to take it off at the end of the day to keep your skin healthy and clean. But what if you put it on your clothes or carpet? Applying makeup all over the face, but all over the face, can cause lifelong stains and damaged clothing. How can you fix this not-so-nice disaster? There are limitless makeup tips waiting for you to get explored! So, move on and check this makeup remover cloth. The most important thing about removing a stain is how you approach it from the beginning. In our rush, many of us choose to rub the area vigorously to remove the stain. Those of you who have tried this know only too well that it ends badly every time. The next time you spill some foundation or drop your blush brush on the carpet, use these day-saving tips and you will be a carpet!

Step 1 – Determine the type of stain

The most important part of solving a stain disaster is determining the type of stain. Stains are wet stains or liquid foundations and blushes, or dry stains like powder eye shadows and blushes.

Dry stains: use a stiff brush to lightly brush the stain in one direction. When brushing, be careful not to brush too forcefully or too hard, as this will help the stain penetrate deeper into the material.

Wetlands: Wet dwellings are another obstacle. Instead of brushing them off, which can cause them to bleed into the carpet or sweater, use a gentle dabbing technique to remove excess fluid from the area.

Step 2 – Saturate the stain

After you’ve removed any excess powder or liquid, the next step is to soak the stain with liquid stain remover or a mixture of detergent and hot water.

Step 3 – Vacuum up the stain

Press the stain with a dry towel or absorbent pad to remove moisture and stain particles from the surface. Continue this pattern with an alternating combination of saturation and pressure until the stain is removed.

If the stain is still there, you can try rinsing the area with water and adding a few drops of ammonia. This will further help remove the stain. Cover it with an absorbent cloth or pad and let it soak up the stain.

More tips for removing makeup stains

If you don’t have a stain remover, try combining 1 part laundry detergent with 8 parts lukewarm water. Using hand soaps or scented soaps, which can stain, is not a wise decision.

If possible, wash the clothes or towel immediately after treating the area. This will help break down any residue that is left behind.

Assess the situation before unpacking the cleaning kits. Some stains, e.g. Lipstick or other oil-based make-up products can be removed by applying make-up remover.

Avoid makeup smudging by getting dressed before you apply makeup, or by covering your face with a towel or cloth before putting on sweaters and t-shirts.
